THE CONFERENCE OF THE BIRDS



An adaptation for the theatre of the popular Sufi tale. The conference is the gathering of ten thousand birds which, realizing their lack of unity and aim, decide to leave for a journey searching for their King. After the mystical journey through the Seven Valleys of suffering the birds will find themselves and reunite in the Simurgh, the great bird.

A PATH DIVINE 

The Book of the Dead or Going Forth by Day is designed as a guide for a man after his death, for his journey through the underworld. After death, the man is to join Ra and travel with him in the sacred bark of the Sun as one of the blessed dead. His journey is to continue in the evening, where he must appear before Osiris, seeking vindication as being worthy of becoming a God. The excerpts selected tell the story of Ani in his journey through the Underworld in order to attain eternal life in the Gods' domain.
